And what if the sun doesn't rise tomorrow? You deal with that when the time comes.
My guess is Adobe will continue to keep the Cloud affordable to attract new users & keep people coming back to it. Keep in mind that Adobe is not a lone wolf. Apple, Google and Microsoft are all moving toward subscription based offerings. This is the new trend now.
Of course, each person must weigh the pros and cons of License vs Subscription for their particular needs & situation. On Perpetual License, I didn't upgrade every cycle or even close to it because the suites were expensive. Subscription ($50/mo) is much more affordable for me even if I don't use all 17 products. Just knowing I have access to all of them gives me great comfort. Now, when a client tosses a particular file at me, I know I can open it. Previously, I had to scramble.
I don't know which products you use, but in my line (web, print, graphics & web media), technologies are changing so fast that subscription software makes a good deal of sense to me. My clients want a relevant product -- not re-cycled stuff from a decade ago. If it were otherwise, I'd still be using Quark, Dreamweaver 8 & Photoshop 6 (which I still own by the way) .
