good lord !
now when i opened application manager it shows all my apps showing "install" as though i never installed them.
i did not delete the "opm_db.db" file as suggested because it is no where to be found.
i did however rename the folder as suggested, the folder name is all lower case = "caps" renamed to "caps_old"
