Re: Help!

So then let me ask you, and this kind of was revealed when you said you're "running" Windows 8,

I'm gonna guess that you're on an older 32 bit machine that you upgraded to Windows 8?

If that's the case I didn't even know that Win 8 ran on 32 bit.

If it's a brand new machine that you bought recently with Win 8 on it, it's probably 64 bit.

But I'm willing to bet that that's where the problem lies somewhere. That in the upgrade to their

new Application manager and/or cloud connection, there is some snafu or lack of ability to know

what kind of machine you're on, that for example it's identifying you via your browser as a 32 bit machine,

and the installer's incompatible with Win 8. Something like that. Or for some reason if you are on a 64 bit machine,

you are getting the 32 bit version of installer for either the application or app manager, whichever.

(Evidenced by the 32 bit setup info from the task manager).

I think I read somewhere where you can actually go to a web page to download each version of program, though

it's kind of defeating the cloud idea. But I think you'd better call customer service to sort all that out.

(Or, I'd have thought that some Adobe staff might have broken in here a while back...Hint...Hint...)

But I'd be interested in the 32/64 bit situation you're in. Also, remember, for a few of these programs,

Photoshop, Bridge and Illustrator I know of, well at least on my 64 bit machine it installs both the 32 bit and

64 bit versions. I just verified that by downloading Illustrator.

The window's looking better and bertter. Kidding!
