That's what I've already tried. But it seems this only influence the programs (like Photoshop, InDesign etc.), but not the Creative Cloud App itself. ;-(

I have just checked Control Panel, and it indicates that my version of InDesign is indeed Adobe InDesign 2018, as is the case with all of the Creative Cloud apps I have installed. Dreamweaver and Illustrator were also updated to the 2018 versions on November 4, and Photoshop was updated on Nov. 14.
A system restore simply moves the existing OS (in this case Windows 10) back to a previous date for purposes of de-bugging. However, it can remove some programs installed after the install date. My best memory is that this occurred on Nov. 16, two days after Adobe installed Photoshop 2018.
What further threw me off was that, when I turn on the program, there is no mention of a "2018" date on the start-up screen. I guess that's a feature I simply thought was there.
But anyway, that's what I thought happened, and I'm happy to see that the updates did survive the system restore.
Hope that settles this once and for all.

How do I cancel free trial when after the 30 day period?
I downloaded Lightroom CC and am currently on the 30 day free trial but I was wondering where I could go to cancel it when the 30 days is up? I went to account but I don't see it under my plans and products.

i don't understand why you edited your registry then.
in any case, as long as you're using the default install:
uninstall everything cc including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html
then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html
clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
restart your computer (don't skip this)
reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.
if you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 3 here, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-missing-damaged.html)
use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials
Illustrator 2018 "Purchasing Error" - trying to download free stock.
Hello,
I'm not able to access any free designs, sets and stock in Illustrator CC 2018.
I get this error message: "Purchasing Error. Sorry, something went wrong when trying to licence the template. Please try again."
They are all marked as "FREE", so I'm not sure why I can't access them.
I tried the below suggestion from the Adobe forum, logged in/out of Adobe CC and rebooted PC. Nothing is working.
- Verify that you have no pending updates for your Creative Cloud applications
- Reboot your system
- Locate the one of the following directories on your system and delete it:
- Mac: /Users/{yourusername}/Library/Caches/Adobe/CCX Welcome/stock
- Win: C:\Users\{yourusername}\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CCX Welcome\stock

Thank you! This solution worked for CC 2018. The latest update (Dec 2017) made InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator all revert back to trials. I tried signing out, uninstalling, but nothing else was working.
I am on a Mac (OSX 10.13.1 High Sierra) so had to do a little extra digging to find the SL folder. For anyone else with the problem on a Macintosh, here is the path:
Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Adobe > SL Store

I make monthly payments on my creative cloud, the last being 11/24/2017. I'm unable to see the software I'm subscribed for.
Chat services is not getting back to me, is this a site wide problem?

Color picker trouble
I can't seem to get the color picker dialog box to open by double clicking the toolbox swatch. I'm in a Mac lab and certain computers are having this issue. Also, the double click isn't working for many tools in many cases. I've tried dumping preferences to no avail. What have I done?

I have upgraded to High Sierra 10.13.1 and I am still having the InDesign incompatibility issue with our site license (we have 2 computers on the license). When one team member makes an edit to an InDesign on their computer the other team member cannot open it on the other computer (Error14 message).
Very sorry that I upgraded before discovering this thread.

The InDesign forum has a lot of professionals that can advise you on this problem.
Upgrading a perfectly working operating system to a new one that ends in .0 or .1 can break things. That's why I set aside a backup Mac with 10.13 until I am very sure I can move over.

I edited the registry because I have my OS installed on a small 64 6gb drive and I don't want my default install location as that drive. Which is a pretty standard thing when you get an SSD as your OS drive that's that small.
And I've already done your solution along with Adobe tech support doing it as well.
