Unable to renew with a different card bc I used PayPal

I tried to renew my creative cloud with a new card instead of PayPal, but every time I try it takes me to the PayPal page and gives me no option to change. I called the help number but because it's Sunday evening the automated voice said, "sorry buddy, your screwed until tomorrow." This is very bad because I need it tonight. What the heck am I paying for? I used to pay to own the program, now I have to fight this internet version that's spotty at best.

Re: Cancellation Fee?

I've had a similar experience to most of the people here. I used to think that Adobe was a terrific Silicon Valley company that made great products, and now my personal feeling is that Adobe is ethically operating at a level close to e-mail scam ring.

My story begins a few months back when I signed up for Creative Cloud stock images for a $49.99 month to month membership. A few months later, I got a phone call from someone explaining that I could have gotten a better value if I had signed up for a team membership, and that she could easily lower my rate and switch me over the phone. I naturally agreed, and got off the phone. I noticed on my next several credit card statements that I was being charged both for the $49.99/month membership in addition to the $29.99/month membership.

I reached out to customer support via the chat tool, and got nowhere. I then called the customer support number, and after waiting over an hour on the phone, was told that I had agreed to a 12 month subscription, and that I would need to pay a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the annual cost of the membership. I explained to him that I was never made aware of the 12 month term, and he said he would try to get a supervisor. After waiting a further 10 minutes, he told me the response from the supervisor was that I was up s#!t creek. $29 per month is not a lot of money, but I like to treat everybody else fairly, and hate it when somebody does something unfair to me. I feel like I am being scammed. I can't seem to get in touch with anybody at Adobe who has the power to do anything, let alone offer an explanation. American Express has helped me put a merchant block on my card while I resolve this dispute. I am hoping that will get somebody's attention at Adobe. I am concerned because I read on ConsumerAffairs.com that Adobe will try to put negative marks on my credit report. So maybe I should just pay the $180 cancellation charge as blood money to Adobe?

I am besides myself. I just don't want to do business with Adobe anymore. I don't want their product, and would use any other company at this point. I never want to see an Adobe product ever again.

Why I need to pay for same product by 2 similar plans..

I think it is weird that i got charged by 2 different methods just for the same product..

How do I do to cancel one of them and get the refund...

I have the same problem on my new Microsoft Surface Pro.  The Adobe software that I pay for monthly cannot be used as the menus and toolbar is too small to read. Crazy and silly that this has not been correct.  Time to look elsewhere for compatible software on high res screens.

Hi Wess20489801,

Unfortunately there is no option to change your payment details from Credit Card to Paypal or vice versa.

If you wish to change your payment details, you will have to cancel your subscription and purchase a new subscription.

Please refer the document below for more information:

Will my standalone installations of LR & PS still work if I enroll in CC?

I have older, standalone versions of both LR and PS installed on my PC. If I decide to buy a subscription to the CC photographic package will my existing standalone installations be unaffected and continue to work apart from the CC versions, such that I can go back to using them if I decide in the future to discontinue my CC subscription?

Thanks.

Is it possible to purchase older versions of CS?

Good Afternoon,

I am a high school technology teacher.  Currently our school has Photoshop 7 installed in my computer lab (WINDOWS 98 REQUIRED!).  I would love to update the lab to at least CS 2 or 3.  I am curious is it possible to purchase licenses for the older versions of CS?  I know about Adobe's discounts for students/teachers/institutions however I know there is zero chance of a purchase this large would ever be approved.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Thank you for your response.  Since I am attempting to purchase this for around 24 computers, I guess I am going to have to be hunting alot.

Hi Howard,

In addition to the info from John, this article shows how one can switch the licensing from subscription to serial number.

How to convert a Lightroom CC trial to Lightroom 6

Essentially you would just need to sign out then sign in again with a membership that doesn't have any kind of membership associated with it. When doing so you're given an option to license with a serial number instead.

The catalog works the same regardless of licensing but the subscription features would no longer be available

I've bought Creative Cloud, but I can't get in because of Trial

Last year I started a study on Media Design and I bought Creative Cloud since I needed the apps. However, when my subscription had expired during the summer, I wasn't sure whether or not I should buy it again because there was trouble with my study. To try and keep up with the other students, I decided to take a few trials to avoid having to pay a large sum of money for apps I weren't going to use. The trouble kept on longer than I thought, so I had to cheat and use multiple accounts to keep my trial. Recently however, the trouble was over and I bought Creative Cloud again. I couldn't expand it because against the time I found the code to do that, I thought it was better to buy it again. The transaction went well, but when I try to open an app, it only keeps directing me to the 'expired trial' screen. I restarted my computer, but it still doesn't work. I have no idea what to do. Does anyone have an idea of what might have gone wrong?
